Trust & Standards

Insurance decisions require trust. This is how we protect client information, explain coverage, review our content, use technology, and hold ourselves to a standard you can read.

Vantage Point Risk helps individuals, families, property owners, real estate investors, and businesses make clearer insurance decisions. That means we need to be clear about how we protect client information, how we explain coverage, how our content is reviewed, how we use technology, and what standards guide our work. This page brings those standards together in one place.

Vantage Point Risk is an independent insurance agency. We compare insurance options, explain coverage trade-offs, help clients avoid costly surprises, and stay involved after the policy is written. We do not sell personal information. We do not treat website content as a coverage determination. We do not use AI or automation as a replacement for licensed insurance judgment. We do not promise pricing, eligibility, claim payment, or coverage that the policy does not provide.

Our trust pages

The detail lives on the pages below. This hub summarizes each one and links to it.

Security & Privacy

Insurance requires detailed information, which can include contact information, property details, driver information, payroll, sales, business operations, claims history, policy documents, and billing information. We use secure websites, controlled access, established insurance systems, and trusted service providers to handle it. Send sensitive information through our secure forms, approved upload links, or Vantage PolicyVault, and do not send Social Security numbers, full payment details, or passwords through ordinary email or text unless we direct you to a secure method. Read more: Security & Privacy.

Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, shared, and protected, along with the privacy rights that apply in California and Oregon. The short version: we use information to quote, place, service, review, and support coverage, and we do not sell personal information. Read more: Privacy Policy.

Terms of Service

The Terms of Service explain the limits and conditions for using the website, forms, SMS communication, and online tools. The short version: website content is general educational information, not legal or tax advice, underwriting approval, a coverage determination, or a guarantee of claim payment. Submitting a form, message, document, or service request does not bind, change, renew, or cancel coverage; changes are effective only after written confirmation from the insurance company or Vantage Point Risk. Read more: Terms of Service.

Editorial Process

We publish educational insurance content to help readers understand coverage, pricing, exclusions, claims issues, and renewal decisions. It starts with real questions from clients, prospects, lenders, and the coverage problems we see during reviews. Substantive content is reviewed for accuracy, limitations, state-specific differences, and the risk of creating a false expectation of coverage, using policy language, carrier materials, regulatory sources, and documented quote examples. Read more: Our Editorial Process.

Accessibility

We want the website to be usable by everyone, on any device, browser, or assistive technology. If you have trouble with a page, a form, or a task, we want to know, and we will help you get the information another way while we fix the underlying issue. Read more: Accessibility Statement.

Professional Standards

The nine commitments that govern how we advise, from telling the truth clearly to never promising an outcome the policy does not guarantee. Read more: Professional Standards.

Content Attribution

Who writes and reviews our content, how we handle sources, when a source cannot be linked, and why AI is never listed as an author. Read more: Content Attribution.

AI Disclosure

How we use AI to support the work, what a person always owns, and why confidential client information stays out of public AI tools. Read more: AI Disclosure.

Our professional standards

Vantage Point Risk is built around clear guidance, honest comparison, and practical advice. Our standards are:

  1. Tell the truth clearly.
  2. Explain trade-offs, not just benefits.
  3. Do not promise coverage, pricing, eligibility, or claim outcomes the policy does not guarantee.
  4. Compare options when the market gives us options.
  5. Point out meaningful gaps, exclusions, limits, and conditions.
  6. Protect client information.
  7. Keep the process organized and documented.
  8. Stay involved after the policy is written.
  9. Correct mistakes when we find them.

These are expanded on our Professional Standards page, and the process behind them, with the timing, is published in full at how we work.

How we use AI

We may use artificial intelligence tools to help organize research, compare documents, identify common questions, create outlines, improve readability, or prepare an initial draft. AI is a working tool, not the authority for an insurance claim. AI-assisted content goes through the same source review, insurance review, privacy review, and final editorial approval as any other content. We do not knowingly place confidential client information into public AI tools, and client examples are anonymized or handled in an approved environment before they are used. Final responsibility for published content remains with Vantage Point Risk and the named human reviewer. Read more: AI Disclosure, content attribution, and our editorial process.

How we use automation

We use automation to help organize work, trigger reminders, route requests, document steps, and support client communication during quoting, onboarding, service, and renewal. It helps reduce missed steps and improve consistency, and it does not replace licensed insurance judgment. Automation does not bind coverage, change or cancel a policy, determine whether a claim is covered, approve underwriting, or guarantee pricing. Coverage recommendations, binding instructions, policy changes, renewal decisions, and claim-sensitive guidance all require appropriate human review. Read more: how we work.

Independent agency and carrier relationships

Vantage Point Risk is an independent insurance agency. We work with multiple insurance companies, wholesalers, managing general agents, program administrators, and specialty markets. Carrier relationships affect which markets we can access, but they do not change our responsibility to explain coverage honestly. Our job is to help clients compare appropriate options based on coverage needs, underwriting requirements, state availability, pricing, policy terms, claims history, property details, business operations, and carrier appetite. Read more: Insurance Companies We Work With.

Reviews, credentials, and recognition

Client reviews, professional credentials, agency affiliations, licenses, and recognition can help a person understand who they are working with. We believe those trust signals should be explained, not just displayed. When we list a credential, recognition, affiliation, or review source, we explain what it is, why it matters, and what it means for the client. Read more: awards, credentials & recognition and client reviews, and meet the people behind the work on our team page.

Educational information, not a coverage determination

Website content is general educational information. It is not a legal opinion, tax advice, regulatory advice, underwriting decision, coverage determination, or guarantee of claim payment. Actual coverage depends on the policy issued, including declarations, forms, endorsements, exclusions, conditions, underwriting requirements, carrier decisions, the facts of the situation, and applicable law. If you need an answer for your specific situation, speak with a licensed advisor and review the actual policy.

Questions, corrections, or concerns

If something on the website appears inaccurate, unclear, outdated, or difficult to access, contact us at support@vantagepointrisk.com or (541) 681-8793. For content corrections, include the page URL, the statement in question, why you believe it is inaccurate or unclear, and any supporting source if available.

Trust & Standards

Common questions about how we operate.

Does Vantage Point Risk sell personal information?
No. Vantage Point Risk does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with insurance companies, underwriting partners, service providers, regulators, or other authorized parties when needed to quote, place, administer, or service coverage.
Does Vantage Point Risk use AI to create website content?
AI may assist with research organization, document comparison, outlines, readability, and drafting. It is not treated as the authority for an insurance claim. Content involving insurance guidance receives human review before publication.
Does Vantage Point Risk use automation?
Yes. Vantage Point Risk uses automation to support reminders, routing, document requests, follow-ups, onboarding, service workflows, and renewal timelines. Automation helps the team stay organized, but it does not replace licensed insurance judgment.
Can coverage be bound or changed through the website?
Not automatically. Submitting information online does not bind, change, renew, or cancel coverage by itself. Coverage changes must be confirmed in writing by the insurance company or Vantage Point Risk.
Is website content insurance advice for my exact situation?
No. Website content is general educational information. Your policy, endorsements, facts, state law, underwriting, and carrier decisions control the actual answer for your situation.
Who reviews Vantage Point Risk's insurance content?
Substantive insurance content is reviewed by a licensed insurance professional with relevant experience. Articles reviewed by Richard Sweet identify him by name and link to his profile when appropriate.
How can I report a correction or accessibility issue?
Contact us at support@vantagepointrisk.com or (541) 681-8793. Include the page URL, what you noticed, and the best way for us to follow up.
