Coverage review

An independent read on the whole household.

Send us what you already have and we will tell you what we would pay attention to. No pricing, nothing to sign, and no obligation to move anything. If your program is already well built, that is what we will tell you.

A private client coverage review is an educational read on the insurance a high value household already has. We check the reconstruction estimate, the loss settlement terms, valuables limits, umbrella attachment and every residence, then tell you plainly what is worth looking at. It is not a quote, an application or a coverage determination.

Why this exists separately from a quote

Most people in this position do not need a price. They need somebody to read what they already bought and tell them whether it does what they assume it does. Those are different jobs, and mixing them is how people end up being sold something before anybody worked out what was wrong.

So we keep them apart. The review is free of pricing on purpose. If you want a quote afterwards you can have one, and if you never do, that is a fine outcome. A good number of reviews end with us telling somebody their existing program is better than they thought.

What we check

Six things, in this order.

The rebuild number

We check whether the dwelling limit reflects what it would actually cost to rebuild the house as built, with its finishes, at current prices, including code upgrades and professional fees.

The settlement basis

A limit is only as good as the terms attached to it. We read whether you have extended replacement cost, guaranteed replacement cost or neither, and what conditions apply.

Valuables and collections

We compare the internal limits on your policy against what you actually own, and flag whether scheduling or a blanket is the better structure.

Liability and the umbrella

We check the underlying limits the umbrella requires, and whether every home, vehicle, rental, watercraft and entity is actually sitting under it.

Every residence, not just the main one

Second homes, seasonal properties, out of state homes and anything held in a trust or an entity get read alongside the primary, because that is where coverage tends to fall through.

Catastrophe decisions

Earthquake and flood sit outside the homeowners policy. We check whether those were decided on purpose or by default.

Start the review

Two ways in. If you want a fast read first, take the ten question review: about ninety seconds, and you see the result before we ask for anything. If you would rather just send us the policy, use the form below.

Either way, nothing here is an application and none of it is an underwriting question.

This is the rebuild cost, not what the house would sell for. Not sure is a perfectly good answer.

We use this to prepare the review and to reply to you. We do not sell or share client information, and requesting a review does not put you into a quoting sequence.

Frequently asked

Coverage review questions.

Is this a quote?
No. There is no pricing in it and nothing to sign. It is an educational read on the coverage you already have. If you want pricing afterwards you can ask for it, and plenty of people do not.
What do I need to send?
The declarations pages for the home, the auto and the umbrella are enough to start. If you have schedules for jewelry, art or collector vehicles, send those too. If you are missing something, send what you have.
What will I get back?
A plain language read on where your coverage fits the household and where it does not, what we would pay attention to first, and the questions worth asking whoever handles it now. If your program is already well built, we will say so.
Will this turn into sales calls?
No. We do not put review requests into a quoting sequence. If you ask for pricing we will quote. If you do not, you will hear from us once with the review and that is the end of it.
What happens to my documents?
They are used for the review and nothing else. We do not sell or share client information. If you would rather not email a declarations page, say so and we will send you a secure upload link instead.
When is the right time?
Before a renewal, after a premium increase, after a non-renewal notice, when a renovation is planned, when a home is bought or sold, or when something was added that the policy may not know about. Also any time nobody has looked at the whole household together in a few years.

Vantage Point Risk is an independent insurance agency. A coverage review is educational and is not a quote, an application, an underwriting decision or a determination that any loss is or is not covered. Coverage availability, eligibility, limits, forms and endorsements vary by carrier, by form and by state and are subject to the policy as issued. Anything we identify should be confirmed against your own policy documents.

Educational, no obligation

Find the gaps before a claim does.

Send the declarations pages. We will read the rebuild number, the settlement terms, the valuables limits and the umbrella against what the household actually is.
