Professional Standards

Nine commitments that govern how we advise, written down so you can hold us to them.

Vantage Point Risk is built around clear guidance, honest comparison, and practical advice. We are not here to make insurance sound easier than it is. We are here to help you understand the decision in front of you. These nine standards are how we hold ourselves to that, and you can hold us to them too.

1. Tell the truth clearly

Plain language, no hedging that hides the real answer. If something is a problem, we say it is a problem. If we do not know, we say that instead of guessing with confidence.

2. Explain trade-offs, not just benefits

Every coverage decision has a cost on both sides. A higher limit costs more; a lower one exposes you. A cheaper policy is usually a smaller policy. Our job is to show you the trade-off, not just the upside of whatever we are recommending.

3. Do not promise coverage, pricing, eligibility, or claim outcomes the policy does not guarantee

This is the one that matters most. The carrier determines coverage and settlement, not us, and anyone who tells you otherwise before an adjuster has looked at the file is saying something they cannot back up. We commit to clear guidance and honest expectations, never to an outcome we do not control.

4. Compare options when the market gives us options

As an independent agency we check more than one market. When there is a real choice, we bring it to you with the reasoning, not just a lower number.

5. Point out meaningful gaps, exclusions, limits, and conditions

The exclusion nobody mentioned is the one that hurts at claim time. We name the limitations that matter rather than letting you discover them when it is too late to do anything about them.

6. Protect client information

Insurance requires sensitive information, and we handle it through secure methods, controlled access, and approved systems. We do not sell personal information. The detail is on our Security & Privacy page and in our Privacy Policy.

7. Keep the process organized and documented

Service should not depend on someone remembering. We run documented workflows for quoting, binding, onboarding, service, and renewals so nothing quietly falls through. The process, with the timing, is published at How We Work.

8. Stay involved after the policy is written

Binding is the start of the relationship, not the finish. We review at renewal, we check in, and we are here when a claim or a change happens during the year.

9. Correct mistakes when we find them

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we own it and fix it. If you see something on this site or in a recommendation that looks wrong, tell us at support@vantagepointrisk.com and we will review it against the source and correct it.

How these standards show up

These are principles; the rest of the site is where they become concrete. How We Work is the process with the timing. Our Editorial Process and AI Disclosure apply the same honesty to what we publish. Trust & Standards is the hub that ties it all together.

Professional Standards

Questions about how we hold ourselves accountable.

What are Vantage Point Risk's professional standards?
Nine commitments that govern how we advise: tell the truth clearly, explain trade-offs, never promise coverage or pricing or claim outcomes the policy does not guarantee, compare options when the market gives us options, point out meaningful gaps and exclusions, protect client information, keep the process documented, stay involved after the policy is written, and correct mistakes when we find them.
Do these standards guarantee a specific insurance outcome?
No. Standards describe how we work, not what a carrier will decide. Coverage, pricing, and claim outcomes depend on the policy issued, underwriting, carrier decisions, the facts, and applicable law.
What happens if Vantage Point Risk gets something wrong?
We correct it. If a page, a recommendation, or a communication contains an error, tell us and we will review it against the source material and fix it. Owning a mistake and fixing it is one of the nine standards, not an exception to them.
How do these standards connect to how you actually operate?
They are the principles behind the process. How We Work publishes the process itself, with the timing. Trust and Standards is the hub that ties the standards, privacy, content, and AI accountability together.
