Security & Privacy
How we protect the information you give us, and how to send sensitive information the right way.
How does Vantage Point Risk protect your information?
Vantage Point Risk uses secure websites, controlled access, established insurance systems, and trusted service providers to collect and handle client information. We use information to quote, place, service, and review insurance coverage. We do not sell personal information.
Insurance requires detailed information. That can include contact information, property details, driver information, business records, claims history, policy documents, and payment information. You should know why we need it, how to send it, and what happens after you provide it.
This page gives you the practical answer. For the complete legal explanation of our privacy practices and your rights, read our Privacy Policy.
What information does Vantage Point Risk collect?
We collect the information reasonably needed to evaluate risk, obtain insurance options, complete applications, service policies, and meet legal or carrier requirements. Depending on the type of insurance, this may include:
- Your name, address, email address, and phone number
- Dates of birth, driver's license information, and household or driver details
- Property, vehicle, business, payroll, sales, and operational information
- Current and prior insurance information
- Claims and loss history
- Contracts, schedules, photos, inspections, applications, and policy documents
- Billing or payment information when needed to place or service coverage
- Records of your communications and service requests
We do not need every type of information for every client. What we request depends on the coverage, the insurance company, underwriting requirements, and the service you ask us to perform.
Why does an insurance agency need personal and business information?
Insurance companies use specific facts to determine eligibility, pricing, coverage terms, and underwriting requirements. Vantage Point Risk uses the information you provide to understand the risk, compare available options, submit applications, service policies, and help with claims or coverage questions.
Providing information does not automatically bind, change, or cancel coverage. Coverage is effective only when confirmed by the insurance company or our office in writing.
How should I send sensitive information?
Use the secure form, portal, upload link, or other approved method our team provides. Vantage PolicyVault is the preferred place to access available policy documents, certificates, policy details, and other account information.
Before entering sensitive information online:
- Confirm that the web address is correct.
- Look for
https://in the address bar. - Avoid public or shared Wi-Fi when possible.
- Do not reuse passwords from other accounts.
- Contact us directly if a request for information or payment feels unusual.
Access Vantage PolicyVault or start a service request.
Is the Vantage Point Risk website encrypted?
Yes. Vantage Point Risk uses HTTPS to encrypt information transmitted between your browser and our website. HTTPS helps protect data while it is in transit, but it does not make every communication method equally secure. Use the secure method our team provides for sensitive documents and information.
How does Vantage Point Risk protect stored information?
We use established insurance and business systems designed to support secure access, recordkeeping, and client service. Access is limited to authorized team members and service providers who need the information for legitimate business purposes.
No organization can honestly promise that a system is completely risk-free. Our approach is to reduce exposure, control access, use appropriate technology, and respond to concerns when they arise.
Who can Vantage Point Risk share information with?
We may share information when reasonably necessary to quote, place, finance, administer, or service insurance. Recipients may include:
- Insurance companies and their authorized representatives
- Managing general agents, wholesalers, program administrators, and underwriters
- Premium finance companies and payment service providers
- Inspection, claims, loss-control, and policy-service providers
- Technology providers that support our agency systems and communications
- Government agencies, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law
- Other parties you authorize us to work with, such as lenders, certificate holders, attorneys, accountants, or business partners
We do not sell personal information. We share information for insurance, service, operational, legal, or compliance purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
How are payments handled?
Insurance premiums are generally paid to the insurance company, premium finance company, or an approved payment provider. When payment information is needed, use the secure payment method or protected form our team provides. Do not send full credit card or bank account information through ordinary email or text.
Submitting payment information or a service request does not by itself bind coverage. We will confirm when coverage has been placed or changed.
Does Vantage Point Risk use cookies and analytics?
Yes. Our website may use cookies and similar technologies that help the site function, remember preferences, understand website use, measure performance, and support communications or marketing. Some technologies are provided by third-party services. You can control cookies through your browser and any cookie choices offered on the website. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
How can I protect myself from insurance fraud and impersonation?
Be cautious if you receive an unexpected request to change payment instructions, send money, disclose a password, or provide sensitive information. Criminals may impersonate agencies, insurance companies, lenders, clients, or vendors. If something does not look right:
- Do not use the phone number or link in the suspicious message.
- Contact Vantage Point Risk using the contact information published on our website.
- Do not send money or sensitive information until the request is verified.
- Report suspected account access or fraud as soon as possible.
Vantage Point Risk will never ask you to provide your account password to our team.
