Additional Insured

An additional insured is a party added to your liability policy by endorsement, often a landlord, client, or general contractor, so your coverage can respond on their behalf for claims connected to your work or tenancy.

How it shows up

Contracts commonly require it so the other party's insurer is not first in line for a claim arising from your work. Meeting the requirement takes a specific endorsement; listing a party on a certificate is not the same thing.
