Certificate of insurance and additional insured help.

A certificate of insurance is the one-page proof a client, landlord, or vendor asks for to confirm you carry coverage. We help businesses get certificates issued correctly and understand what an additional insured or waiver request actually means before they agree to it.

Ready for terms? Get a quote. Want to find the gaps first? Compare your coverage.

A certificate of insurance summarizes your policies for a third party. It is proof of coverage, not coverage itself, and it does not change your policy. When a contract also asks for additional insured status or a waiver of subrogation, those are real policy changes that should be reviewed against the request.

What a certificate does and does not do

A certificate confirms that policies exist, with limits and dates, for the party requesting it. It does not grant them rights under your policy by itself. Additional insured status and waivers are separate endorsements that actually modify coverage.

Because of that, agreeing to a certificate request is not the same as meeting a contract's insurance requirements. The wording is what matters.

Already a client? Request a certificate

If you are already insured with us, the fastest path is to request your certificate through the Service Center with the details of who needs it and what the contract requires. We will issue it correctly and flag anything the request implies for your policy.

New to us? Start with a quote or a review

If you do not have coverage yet, or you are not sure your current policy can meet a certificate or additional insured request, get a quote or compare your coverage and we will build a program that can satisfy the requirement.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

Is a certificate of insurance the same as being covered?
No. A certificate is proof that coverage exists for the party requesting it. It does not create or expand coverage, and additional insured or waiver requests are separate endorsements that should be reviewed.
What does additional insured mean on a certificate?
It means another party is added to your liability policy for claims connected to your work or tenancy. Whether your policy can provide it, and on what terms, depends on the endorsement, so it is worth confirming.
How do I get a certificate fast?
If you are already insured with us, request it through the Service Center with the requirement details. If you are not yet a client, get a quote first so we can issue a certificate that meets the request.
