Answer the application questions below and you will see options from multiple cyber markets. Nothing binds automatically. We look at what comes back with you before you decide. Rather talk it through first? Speak to an advisor.
Cyber applications run through ProWriters, a wholesale broker that places cyber and professional liability with multiple carriers. The policy is issued by the underlying carrier and Vantage Point Risk remains your agent. If the tool above does not load, open it in a new tab or contact a specialist.
What to have ready
The application is short, and most of it is information you already know. Having these to hand makes it faster.
- Annual revenue, and the industry you operate in.
- Roughly how many records you hold, meaning customer or employee data with names attached.
- Whether you take payments, and how.
- Your security basics: multi-factor authentication, backups, and whether you train staff on phishing. These move the price more than anything else.
- Any prior cyber claim or incident, including one you handled yourself without claiming.
If a question does not apply, say so rather than guessing. An application that does not match reality is the most common reason a cyber claim gets disputed later. Our article on what cyber applications actually ask covers why.
What happens after you submit
You will see indications from the markets that want the risk. We review them together before anything is bound, because on cyber the differences that matter are rarely the premium. Sub-limits on funds transfer fraud, whether social engineering is covered at full limit, the ransomware waiting period and who controls the incident response panel are what decide whether a policy responds.
If your business is better served by a standalone policy than a cyber endorsement on your business owners policy, we will say so. If the opposite is true, we will say that too. See endorsement versus standalone for the comparison.
If online is not the right route
Some risks do not belong in an online application. Technology companies with contractual liability, healthcare practices with protected health information, firms that have had a prior incident, and anyone who needs limits above what the portal offers are all better served by a conversation first. Start there instead and we will market it properly.
